Transformers Masterpiece Tracks is a nice addition to the line. Tracks features his car mode, flying mode, and robot mode. The attention to detail is great including the paint, and articulation.

Beautifully crafted and excellent articulation. Only downside is the instructions are in Chinese or Japanese, just like the rest of the Masterpiece Collection.

I really like this guy. Perhaps because I didn't pay full MP price for it. I am starting my MP collection and Tracks is going to look great on my shelf.

Simply, I dont like the sacrifices and shortcuts made for show accuracy. The legs are a good example. Sicne Takara felt the legs didnt have the right robot mode detail, they just added an extra panel to go over them. And that really feels off for me. Its just an extra panel, not linked to any car part, just laid over and not in a uniform way. I would have much preferred that detail to already be on the leg or to be the flip side of a leg panel, like they did with Ironhide. But here, its just an extra piece and it just doesnt feel like that is at all how any transformer would transform in the fiction, you know? It just doesnt mak the toy feel like that part is made up of the car or its innards and the panel ends up feeling extraneous when transforming. Its like its trying to fool us that there is more going on with the leg transformation which is actually very basic for an MP (compared to Bumblebee for instance).

So thats a good summary of how I feel the entire figure is handled.

As far as engineering, I despise the technique of having the back attach to the front through some tabs. That practically never works. It was a disaster with RID Sideswipe and it really isnt that much better here. It works super well with Hot Rodimus ecause they have the smart idea of having the back grip through the sides of the shoulders, which is a less obvious place to handle when posing. But with Tracks/roadrage, the back and front keep unclipping.

And abot the back, oh boy is that gap dreadful. I was not prepared. I was told there was a gap and i saw it in videos, but that wasnt enough to show me how much space there is between the two. The bot ends up looking like he is scatered metal just floating around. Because sadly, no matter wha the interpretation of that back is, the figure looks off. If you say its just a backpack, fine, but then the whole profile is out of wack with the torso being far more front than the legs. If its actually an extension of his torso, then fine, but that means he is mostly made up of air in between.

And I really hate how the wings dont have the proper amount of articulation for you to pose them correctly in robot mode. Their movement becomes really restricted.

And then you get the cherry on top with the Roadrage mold where the head doesnt lock (it does on Tracks).

So there you go, all the reasons I really do not like this toy.

This is the first of the Masterpiece Carbots that I have not been completely enthralled with. Which is a shame. The Autobots somewhat flamboyant Vette should make for an interesting figure. But this is the first case where the car alt mode is much much better than the robot.

The car is gorgeous. Great color. Great markings. Even has an engine under the hood. Just absolute perfection. Even the winged flying mode is great, with the really nice flight stand.

But the robot form is meh. The transformation is more annoying than challenging. The finished robot is tall, thin and extremely hollow from the rear. Articulation is on the bottom end of the line.

The accessories are a mixed bag. The Raoul figure is worthless and pointless. After giving us nice jointed and to scale figures along with Optimus, Ultra Magnus and Bumblebee, we get this undersized mini statue. It feels cheap and lazy. He also comes with a dinky little pistol (some sort of metaphor?) and the plug in flight form weapon, that nobody will ever use.

Overall he's nice to have, but I would not anchor a collection around him. Get the major characters first. The Nissan Fairlady and Lamborgini Contach based figures are all around much better.

This could have been done better. Tracks is rather delicate, there is an open space in his side and the wings can be a hassle in transformation. His alt mode is awesome and his robot mode is alright. Most of his transformation is initiative and fun, but moving the kibble around the rear of the vehicle and wings isn't fun. A must for collecting. He's not a bad figure, but for those collecting masterpiece Transformers... he could have been done better. For those starting out, I would recommend Wheeljack, the Datsun modes (Bluestreak, Prowl, Smoke screen) or the Lamborginin's (Side Swipe, Red Alert, G2 Red Alert and Clamp Down).

Just awesome. Everything pegs in and holds well plus it's got an opening hood in alt mode! The base and accessories are a nice bonus too!

I like this figure overall, however for a masterpiece it felt a little cheap and hollow. I give it a three star rating because of the look, but I'm a little disappointed. Pick this up only if your a masterpiece collector
