Mission: The Blood Cancer Foundation of Michigan (BCFM), serving children and adults, provides information, emotional support, financial assistance and social supportto Michigan families affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood related diseases. Patient and family events are hosted at locations throughout the state, including holiday parties, bowling events, date nights and social gatherings. BCFM also provides holiday toys to pediatric patients and their siblings, and children of adult patients.

Results: Actively serving over 3,000 patients and families in the state of Michigan through information, emotional support, financial assistance and recreation events.

Direct beneficiaries per year: over 13,000 patients and family members directly affect by blood cancer in the state of Michigan

Programs: Emotional Support- The Patient Support Specialists will call you on a schedule that best meets your needs to offer support and a steady hand as you traverse your cancer diagnosis. Financial Support- BCFM offers reimbursement for travel, lodging, and prescription co-pays. Special Needs Grants are available to assist with the unexpected expenses that arise with a blood cancer diagnosis. Disease and Treatment Education- Through BCFM's Resource Room or the Stepping Stones resource kit, which is mailed out to all newly diagnosed patients, BCFM offers educational resources on all aspects of a blood cancer diagnosis. Recreation Events- Throughout the year and across the state, BCFM offers an opportunity for patients and families to get out and enjoy a day of "normalcy" when their lives are anything but. This may include sports tickets, date nights, group parties, ice skating, or bowling events.
