We purchased this based on the reviews saying that it saved their plane at Oshkosh.We parked and tied down facing west, as most weather comes from the west, we thought we were okay. The subsequent thunderstorm did arrive from the west, and our little 172 stayed firmly on the ground. When the 40mph wind gusts arrived from the EAST, our tent pulled itself out of the ground and the rainfly shook violently in the wind. The plane? did not move an inch. I looked at everyone else's plane who had tied down with The Claw. Virtually no movement in 40mph gusts. Our neighbors who had twist in tie downs rocked in the wind and they lost their awning. The hammer included feels a little cheap, so you might want to throw a second hammer in the bag. Due to the rain all week (hello Oshkosh), the stakes were super easy to hammer in and pulled out easy with the included hammer. We did not use the included tie down ropes, we used rachet straps that were easy to adjust.If you're thinking about this. Buy it.I wish I could get these for my tent.

If you need to secure your airplane and there are no tie-downs left on the ramp, this is your next best thing. These things hold the ground like you wouldn't believe! If you ever fly into Oshkosh for Airventure, these are a must. Every airplane on the airport property must be tied down, no exceptions!
