Mission: Founded in 2003, The Labouré Society rescues Catholic vocations from the barrier of student loan debt. The vast majority of seminaries and religious communities will not accept into formation men and women who have outstanding student loan debt. The communities cannot absorb that debt and they cannot pay off that debt with their own funding. Through a Catholic based fund raising model Labouré teaches future priests, sisters and brothers how to fundraise for vocations as a collective class of “aspirants” to priesthood or religious life. Using the Labouré model aspirants erase significant student loan debt in months rather than years. Since 2003, Labouré has delivered close to 300 aspirants into formation, and 80% of those aspirants have gone on to final ordination or profession of final vows. No other Catholic lay organization in the country is having the kind of impact Labouré is having on delivering vocations to the Catholic church, vocations which—but for Labouré—would be lost to the church forever. (Less)

The Labouré Society is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 2002, and donations are tax-deductible.
