I read Dr. McKenzie‘s book long ago, after nearly rupturing a disk. The sports medicine surgeon suggested I did not need surgery, nor any other radical fix. Just needed to understand how to treat my back properly so that it would heal, and so that I could keep it strong. The McKenzie role was very much a part of that therapeutic healing. Almost 20 years later I purchased another one, purchased one from my wife, and for friend who has been suffering from very similar pain as mine was. By the way my back got better within a year and has been in great shape ever cents. I never experience much more than tiredness and usually due to inappropriately using my back. I highly recommend the role and secondarily the book. No one prompted me to make this recommendation. It is born directly from my personal great experience. A tool without knowledge about the subject is not likely to give you the best results. I keep a role in my car and one at my office desk chair.

This is an absolute must for people that need that little extra cushion for lumbar support. Sit all the way back in a chair and slip this little puppy right into that lumbar curve and pain just disappears. What a smart idea!

My Physical Therapist recommended this product. It has good support and is a good size. My big complaint is the strap that is supposed to hold the roll in place on the chair. It's very flimsy! It doesn't stay in place at all. Every time I get up, I have to re-adjust it to the right position on my chair.

I???m an ICU nurse so I put this on the chair where I chart. My co-workers often ask to borrow it. Feels great and the firm one is enough to kind of massage my back a little when I have a moment to sit.

This product definitely helps with herniated or bulging L1 - L3 disc problems. I have used mine faithfully in the last 2 or 3 years during personal drive time and coal miner heavy machinery operating time. I wore out the original first purchase and now have 2 new ones to replace my original beat to heck McKenzie Lumbar Roll. Very durable just do not put the put the foam roll in a clothes dryer to dry after washing it because it will quickly break down the firmness and render it useless.

Super hard. Could not use it as a lumbar support because it was like a rock behind my back with no give at all. I ended up using it as a support between my knees when I sleep on my side. It works excellent for this purpose, since it has no give.
