This back roll provides wonderful support to the lower back. Driving can be very stressful on ones back, and this "pillow" helps a lot.

My car's seat back lacks lower back support which became a real problem after having a muscle spasm in my back. After three weeks of painkillers, massage and exercises did not significantly alleviate my back ache, I tried a makeshift lumbar roll in my car and was getting relief after just a few hours. The advantage of this model is the strap that holds it to the seat back. When I get into the car, it takes just a minor adjustment to the right height and I am ready to drive. The ache is gone but I'm keeping it there to maintain the lordosis needed to prevent further problems.

Works great for long car trips. Much less neck, arm and lower back fatigue. Not too thick, contoured on the edges. Is easily moved or removed for different drivers.

I have been using this product since 1990, and it has been a lifesaver for me. I tried many other lumbar supports and none worked nearly as well as this one. However, all were highly regarded by other back sufferers. What this shows is that each individual's back pain is highly idiosyncratic, and if you are a back sufferer, you need to shop around and find the aid that is best for you. It appears from the reviews that the McKenzie lumbar roll has been good for a large number of people, so if I were new to this game and seeking relief for the first time, I would certainly give it a try. My next comment is that the strap has not worked for me. I took it off with the first roll and have never looked back. Not using the strap means that my roll is constantly being inserted (manually, each time I sit down) at different orientations. This is probably why I have not experienced the "flattening" that several reviewers complain about. My last point is that the firmness of a lumbar support is one of the most personalized features that back sufferers should be seeking -- a firmness that pleases one person will be too hard or soft for others. That being so, you need to experiment. I have found the standard McKenzie roll to be exactly right for me, after I have used it for a couple of weeks. It DOES soften up a bit, but for me that is perfect. If you find the standard firmness too soft after some use, then try the firmer one. To summarize, I literally cannot live without this product. It goes with me everywhere. I have lost many over the years -- I am logging in now to order two more, having forgotten one recently on an airplane. however, I always have spares, at work and at home, and am replenishing my spare supply right now. If you are a back sufferer like me (I once spent six months laid up in bed with back pain), then try this product.

It's hard to know when you order a product on-line, but for me, this roll was just too firm. I need something for the lumbar area, but this is not it.

This lumbar roll, I take everywhere! I use it at work and on car rides. It has improved my posture and my back is feeling so much better. It is a small expense for great results!

If you have back pain Or anykind of pain when sitting. This product works well. U can put it behind your back/lumbar area. Or if it hurts your legs/butt, to sit...You can also put it under your butt too.I would suggest this product to people w/ nerve damage, back pain, or siatic pain too

i sit at work, and my lower back has started hurting within the last few months. i went to a chiropractor, and afterwards decided to buy a few things to help stretch/support my back, particularly while i'm sitting as this exasperates my pain. it has been a little over a week and i think this little pillow feels comfortable and helps support my back. i will probably order a few more, one for a gift and one for my car. this is SO much better than the "kiss my back" which i got at BB&B.

I have several McKenzie Lumbar Rolls, both standard and firm. I keep them in the car, in the office, and at home. I have used them for many years, and have lost several in taxis and planes. They have been life-savers when I am having back problems, and they keep my back healthy when I am not having problems. I just ordered and received a new standard firmness roll, but it is by far the softest, least supportive of all the rolls I've bought. For me, at 178 lbs, it's almost useless in a chair or in the car. It squishes into almost nothing with the slightest pressure. It's even less firm than an older well worn standard firmness roll I have. Perhaps the formula changes occasionally, but if this is the new formula, then I would need a "medium" firmness in between the firm (too firm for many uses) and the standard. I have discovered one perfect use. When my lower back goes out, I often wear a roll to bed. It helps me move in bed, and roll out in the morning. For this use, I want a very soft small pillow or a more squishy roll. This latest roll works perfectly for this application. Given the current formulas, an older more worn out firm roll serves my own needs best. It would be nice to have something new in between standard and firm.

The pillow is too small and the velcro strip won't stay put. Keeps riding up with the cover and loses contact with the chair. Too much money for this product...a rolled up towel works better for support of the lower back.

This lumbar roll provides great support and it's really convenient to move between chairs. However, as others have mentioned, it's quite narrow and may not be suitable for all people.

It makes my back feel better. You need to take the plastic off and squeeze it because it is very firm. My pt person told me to get this particular type.

This product has definitely made my 30-min. each way commute a lot easier on my back. Having it there also helps remind me to think about my posture and not slouch.I haven't ever tried any similar kind of item before, but in my opinion this is a great product.

I have had one of these for a few years now. I bought one when I had some bad back pain due to 4 herniated discs. I use mine in my car and bring it in to work every day. I purchased this one for my father who started to have back problems. When he got it and started using it (at home, in the car, etc.) he said he started to feel relief right away. All chairs, car seating, and sofas have poor designs for correct back support. This does the trick. I personally remove the positioning strap as it just got in teh way for me.

I really like the comfort & support of the McKenzie Super Roll Lumbar Roll. The firmness is just right. The fabric is very nice. The one feature I don't like is the way it does, or doesn't, attach to some of the chairs/seats I need to use it with. As advertised, the straps are adjustable & removable, but I've had difficulty with securely attaching it to the driver's seat in my car & my chair at work. The straps don't seem to hold it in place. If I get up or lean forward too much, it slips. My job requires a lot of getting up & moving around an office. Repositioning the cushion got old really quickly. I don't use it as much as I would like.

This lumbar roll makes sitting at a desk a lot more comfortable regardless of what kind of chair you are sitting in. Very good product for people with any kind of back problem.

This is the BEST Lumbar Support that I have found. Prior to ordering it, I could not make a road trip comfortably at all. I just returned from a 5 hour trip with no problems. In fact, it was very comfortable. It stays in my car at all times.

This is the first roll of any kind that I have used. I started using it on the chair I use while using the computer and then in the car for drives lasting an hour or more. I even took it to a Chicago White Sox baseball game. I am very satisfied with the product. Whenever using this, pain in my back either doesn't occur or immediately diminishes (depending on when I use it), and my awareness of my posture, and I think my posture itself, have started to improve since using this product.
