I love this pillow. I have one for each car and my sewing chair. I also take it when I travel or go out to dinner. Occasionally I leave them when traveling whence the need to order another one. It provides the extra support I need since having back surgery.

Based on my 2 week experience with this product so far, the firm density lumbar roll has the perfect level of support and firmness when used in recliner chairs. I find that in those types of chairs I have a tendency to slouch and this lumbar roll seems to prevent that, and plus it feels more comfortable too. I haven't found that it helps that much in my computer chair-- the chair back is pretty firm & so the firm cushion on the lumbar roll pushes me too far forward-- perhaps something less firm or one of the thinner D-shaped cushions might work better for me there.I haven't tried the cushion in the car yet-- for long car trips I could see it coming in handy as a way to change positions and alignment.Your mileage may vary, but for for me at least, I like the firmness and the cushion seems to be doing what I hoped it would.

After an onset of lower back pain several years ago, I was to a point where I found it difficult to drive a car much longer than 20-30 minutes. This roll offers great lumbar support and allows me to drive as long as I want or need to. I highly recommend it. I'm not sure why it's classified as a toy though.

Using this product as I type on my office chair... works well, not too hard or two soft. Strap holds the unit on the chair, but you have to adjust it each time, which isn't a problem. Had an old back injury act up and this helps a lot. Let's me sit all day.

Works so much better than a cushion, a pillow, or a rolled-up towel. I am going to get a second one for the office.

This back roll provides wonderful support to the lower back. Driving can be very stressful on ones back, and this "pillow" helps a lot.

This is an excellent lumbar support for those who have disc issues. It forces you to sit up straight and practice good posture. I use one every day and it has minimized the back pain that I had for many years.

Because I use this back pillow when I am at the gym, I ordered the extra firm version. I wanted to make sure that it would stand up to the heavy use it gets when it supports my back while I'm on the weight lifting machines. It does that well & I'm very pleased with it. I believe it will last a long time, with minimal wear & tear.

This is the BEST Lumbar Support that I have found. Prior to ordering it, I could not make a road trip comfortably at all. I just returned from a 5 hour trip with no problems. In fact, it was very comfortable. It stays in my car at all times.

This is the first roll of any kind that I have used. I started using it on the chair I use while using the computer and then in the car for drives lasting an hour or more. I even took it to a Chicago White Sox baseball game. I am very satisfied with the product. Whenever using this, pain in my back either doesn't occur or immediately diminishes (depending on when I use it), and my awareness of my posture, and I think my posture itself, have started to improve since using this product.

After having sciatica pain bad enough to seek medical attention, a physical therapist suggested among other things, using a lumbar support in my chair. A co-worker recommended this one and it is fabulous. It is a good level of firmness, and the curved shape is very comfortable and supportive of my lower back.

At my doctor's suggestion, I purchased the McKenzie book and the McKenzie Lumbar Roll - Firm Density. I used a rolled up towel until the McKenzie Roll arrived. I tried my one hour commute to work with and without the McKenzie Roll. Conclusion: The McKenzie Roll is dramatically effective for me; I would even say amazing. A rolled up towel of the same size is too firm, particularly in my vehicle seat. After experimenting, I now do not strap the roll to the seatback; it is easier to just position the roll after sitting in the seat as instructed. It is important to "roll" the roll into the correct spot on your back; too high or too low greatly reduces the effectiveness. It does take some getting used to, but it is well worth the effort. I now find I forget it is there after ten minutes or so. I started to cut off the strap, but then I found it is handy for attaching the roll to the outside of my computer bag to take on the airplane. I also tried the D-shaped roll, but I like the round one better; it is easier to roll into just the right position. I think the McKenzie exercises are also important. They are easy and don't take much time; however, I think they must be performed exactly as instructed in the book to be effective.

15.5" long x 6" wide x 2.5" deep, not 8 x 8 x 4 as described. Good comfortable support for some locations. Not deep enough for others. Depends on where you plan to use it.
