The pickaxe is made of a hard foam material which we have found to be quite durable. I'd advise against using this as a weapon as most kids (including my 5 year old) will likely do because it is quite hard. It did break eventually but only because my son and his friend fought over it in a tug-a-war match which I can't fault it for.<br /><br />The packaging is pretty generic compared to what you would find in a big box store but you're not paying the full price either. I can't tell any difference in the product otherwise. I'm giving it 4 stars simply because there's nothing here that separates it from other pickaxes you'll find online but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The color is a bit off from what we got at Target, but my sons loved it and i loved it even more because of the price. The foam is still thick and firm. Good quality stuff!

Must have for any Minecraft lover! My sons plays with his almost everyday and it is still intact. I like that it is soft as he is dangerous with things like this HAHA!

Well it's a big foam pickaxe.... Probably a must for minecraft lovers. A little ridiculous for the price and item for those of us that aren't minecraft lovers. But my son loves it and that's all that matters. It is harder than I expected though! I was thinking soft foam and it's very rigid.

They took a very long time to arrive, atleast a month! Also they have a very toxic/chemical smell. I haven't let my son play with them.

The paint is peeling off of this pickaxe after only about a week of being played with. My son does love it, but I am disappointed in the quality.
