Mission: Founded in 1875, Thornwell is a diverse non-profit ministry across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina committed to the most innovative and effective solutions to heal, strengthen, and empower children and families.

Thornwell believes in a world where everyone belongs to a thriving family. Every day, and for 147 years, we address the child welfare crisis at the root level, the family level, to prevent instability or breakdown before it happens.

Thornwell's enduring mission and continuum of care services include foster and residential care, educational support, family services, and life skills training to meet children and families wherever they are in their journey to healing. When a family gains access to loving support, resources, and care, it can change just about everything.

Mission: Thornwell serves to prevent child abuse and neglect, to build up and reunite families, and to support healthy communities in the name of Jesus Christ.

Thornwell is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1984, and donations are tax-deductible.
