Mission: Thrive dc works to prevent and end homelessness by providing vulnerable individuals with a comprehensive range of services to help stabilize their lives.

Programs: Thrive dcs daily bread/daily needs program includes the breakfast program that serves 200-250 men and women from 8:30 -- 11:00 am monday-friday and the dinner program that serves 30 -- 75 women and children monday-friday from 3:00 -- 6:00 pm. In addition to our on-site meals, we offer supplemental food services to clients as a part of our lunch-to-go program made possible by a partnership with the sandwich stop pret a manger, in which clients choose from an assortment of salads and sandwiches to take with them when they leave our facility. Additionally, clients may take advantage of our emergency food pantry, which provides grocery bags three days a week through a referral process. These grocery bags are often utilized by clients living with hiv/aids or other chronic illnesses both as a resource for nutritious foods essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and also to alleviate the economic burden of paying for healthy food (continued schedule o)

substance use disorder support/recovery program (sudsr)through our bi-lingual substance use groups and individual counseling thrive dc was able to support 453 english speakers and 392 spanish speakers in their work to gain and maintain their sobriety. 110 groups were conducted and 22 individuals were provided individual sudsr counseling. Finally, our reentry program - women in new directions (wind) provides intensive case management, substance abuse counseling and wrap-around services to women reentering society after incarceration. In 2017, there were a total of 19 active participants in wind, who have been involved in some form for 30 days or longer. The wind program manager identifies potential candidates for the program through orientations offered at the dc correctional treatment facility to women being released from prison and through referrals from partner organizations.

job readiness - in 2017 there were 96 sessions of supported job search, resume development, interviewing skills, cover letter development, and soft skill development for 228 clients. Over 140 job searches were posted and of the 59 new clients that participated in job readiness, 25 clients reported gaining either full-time or part- time employment. Real opportunity employment-training program is a unique, intensive, 23-week job training program that includes soft skills training, culinary skills training with our executive chef and a 3-month apprenticeship with a partnering restaurant. In 2017, the real opportunity employment training enrolled 14 people program and graduated 9 people in 2017.To date the program has graduated 85 trainees and 62% of those participating in follow up have gained employment post graduation.

through our links program, clients participate in on-site educational, therapeutic, and enrichment activities, such as music group, mens and womens support and addiction groups, and garden group, which provide increased opportunities for learning in an atmosphere of peer support. Thrive dc also offers emergency transportation, prescription assistance, individualized case management, while also connecting our clients with comprehensive services available onsite through our community partners. Our partners provide dental and health care, transitional housing and other diverse services needed to overcome homelessness and increase self- sufficiency.
