This universal joint puller helps to make removal much easier. The instructions specify that an impact wrench will void your warranty due to the hammering action. However an air wrench/ratchet seems acceptable since it does not have the hammering action that can damage the power screw. During my use some of the bearing cups were seized such that I was not able to remove with this tool. I ended up using a ball joint press for those really stubborn ones since I did not want to deform the yokes. In hindsight, I would probably better strategize the removal of seized bearing cups by breaking loose one side and then instead of totally pressing it out move to the other side break the opposite side loose. Once both sides have been broken loose then you can continue to press them out. I believe what was happening in my case was that once a bearing cup is totally removed on one side, the cross/trunnion is no longer supporting the yoke. Since the yoke is free to deflect the remaining bearing cup will be more difficult to press out.
