These are the only tools I would use for wood tearout. I use them constantly. They take a good edge, hold up well, and last long. One note: I the past, I could use a good file to sharpen these. Recently the steel seems to be harder, so don't try using a file. You will destroy the file. Use a belt sander ( carefully, don't overheat ) or a diamond file.
