Mission: Citizen volunteers provide emotional first aid to survivors of tragedy in order to ease their immediate suffering and facilitate their healing and long term recovery.

Target demographics: Family members, witnesses, survivors and those affected by a crisis or traumatic event.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 15,740 citizens in crisis

Geographic areas served: Greater Portland/Vancouver Metro area; specifically Multnomah, Clackamas County, Clark, and Skamania Counties.

Programs: Provide emotional and practical support to victims of traumatic events in the first few hours after a tragedy. Emergency personnel request TIP Volunteers through the 911 system. In 2019, TIP Volunteers responded to 3,214 scenes of tragedy, assisted 15,740 citizens in crisis and spent 12,219 hours on-scene.
