Mission: Our mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening at-risk families using proven interventions.

Results: Two independent studies -- which included data from TVCRN's programs -- showed that Relief Nurseries throughout Oregon significantly reduce the risk factors that can lead to child maltreatment and help to prepare children for academic learning in kindergarten. Data from our local school district shows that for the past three years some of the children from our program are scoring higher on kindergarten readiness assessments than other children in the district AND in the state! This is incredible given the deficits with which our children enter school.

Target demographics: at-risk families

Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 70 families, providing several hundred home visits focused on the well-being of 85 young children regularly attending our therapeutic early childhood classes. .

Geographic areas served: Malheur County

Programs: home visits focused on parent education and a therapeutic early childhood classroom for children ages 18 months to 5 years.
