Mission: To promote healthy smiles worldwide through community empowerment!

Results: The most effective measurement of our work can be described by a simple ratio- 1:1.We have served over 6,800 children in our target communities in Kurdistan Regional Iraq, Romania, and Haiti, that is over 6,800 children who now have a better opportunity to avoid awful, painful diseases like tooth decay or gum disease for the rest of their lives. Over 6,800 children who are less likely to miss school, or be unable to eat because of the pain from poor oral health. By the end of 2018, we plan to have up to 16,000 children served in the country of Haiti, as well as spread our services into other countries such as Nepal and Colombia. With this project, we could enable an entire generation of children to have the lowest reported cases of tooth decay in history. This, along with the financial benefits of providing work for previously unemployed women will enable Unspoken Smiles to not only improve the health of our target population but also improve their economy.

Target demographics: at-risks children and adults

Direct beneficiaries per year: over 4,040 children in our target communities in Kurdistan Regional Iraq, Romania, and Haiti.

Geographic areas served: underprivileged communities around the world

Programs: oral health education in classrooms, a fellowship program aiming at providing vocational training to young women, and lastly a global outreach programs in partnerships with like-minded organizations to provide treatment and help repair damaged teeth.
