I own an auto repair shop and a farm, so between customers cars at the shop and the many vehicles of my own I use this on a regular basis, so much so that I keep 1 at the shop on charge and 1 in my truck. Ive had a few different brands of jump boxes and I have/had 3 JNC 660's over the years. My experience has been nothing (in the same amp rating or price) does as good a job for as long as the JNC660. The unit that stays in my truck will sometimes be used 10-12 times without being charged and holds its charge very well. Other units I've had needed to recharged after every use. It is also a powerful unit, the rule of thumb for batteries is 1 CCA for every cubic inch of engine displacement so a 5.3 liter (327cu) gas engine would need a 350 cca battery under normal conditions. I have started diesel trucks and tractors in cold weather with this unit with no problems unless they were completely dead or had no battery in them. I typically get 3 usable years out of the JNC660, and they do include a coupon for a battery replacement, but the cost of mailing the unit back vs buying a new one on sale isnt worth it in my opinion. I have other units that have work lights and/or air compressors etc so if you desire that stuff this is not the tool for you, but if all you want is a good hard working jumpbox for a reasonable price this is it.

I have brought other portable chargers which are great in their portability but invariably failed to have the power to jump start my car. After a service vehicle came by to give me assistance, I asked the make and model of the jump starter they used, and I wound up buying this one. Once again, I had a failed battery and I used this unit to start the engine. I was very pleased with the ease of use. All I had to do was connect the cables to the car battery and turn the key. No switch or button. As a matter of fact, there is only one button and that is to test the voltage level of the charge in the unit. If you ever need to be independent with a jump start, this is the unit...

When my RAM truck had a dead battery, I called AAA to jump start the vehicle. When he showed up, he pulled out a Jump-n-Carry JNC-660. He used it's volt meter gauge to assess my batterie's voltage. Confirming it was low, he then used the unit to provide a powerful jump to my truck which immediately started. I've seen smaller units that could probably fit in a glove box. But I chose this because if it's tough enough for such heavy service as AAA might impose, I felt confident it would never let me down. It rides in my pickup truck always.

I keep it in the car behind the driver's seat. Usually plugged in so it's always topped up.But I -have- gotten at least six starts on a friend's car (long story) on one charge.I'm seriously considering not carrying jumper cables anymore.

Have used these at work. Gets a lot of use and abuse. Mostly use on large trucks and diesel engine start batteries. Work for a large package delivery company with airplanes. Prefer the lead acid battery style over the lithium jump packs. Cigarette lighter plug is very useful for use with the OBD 2 memory saver when swapping out car and truck batteries.

This is a true jumper pack that you can start a truck with. If you have a car or cuv you could get away with one of those small lithium packs but the problem with those is they don't last very long especially not being left in the car with the heat and cold.
