For several years my go to base layer for cold weather was a set of waffles from an airsoft brand but I found that I found them to be bulky and a little sloppy looking for my needs. After some research I decided to shell out for a set of these and it was one of my best decisions. They fit very well and they are super warm without the bulk. One of my best purchases!

I've been using the UA 4.0 base layers for years now to snowmobile in frigid temperatures, sometimes as cold as -5 air temp. When moving at speed, that temperature can be -40 or more. Before these, I used to wear too many underlayers to try and stay warm, but now, in almost all cases, all I wear are my base layers and then jacket and snowpants over. If it's below 0 air temp, I wear an extra synthetic layer on top for added heat retention. I'll never switch to anything else.
