Causes: Human Services, Public Safety Benevolent Associations

Mission: Our mission is to educate, support, and guide first responders and veterans through the journey of wellness by supporting them and their families in any way we can. Wellness, mental health, and addiction are common issues and concerns within the families of public service. We do this through a network of providers and institutions, peers, and aim to do so with the financial support of our generous donors.

Results: We have established a network of care that is effective to those in need. Preventative programs such as sleep medicine and our monthly meetings or "Peer Councils" have been established. Our Peer Councils are a place where people can talk in the confidence of peers and is one of the only places you can talk with a clinician (or provider) for free. There is the option of following up with the provider. If they cannot afford to see our provider, we will cover the cost as needed. This keeps the focus on keeping well. We have professional relationships with qualified providers in order to refer those in need for treatment versus the alternative: addiction and suicide. For those looking to get help, we refer them as well. We maintain contact with them and their families throughout the entire process and help them engage in after-care as well as continuing support.
