Mission: Adversity is not destiny. We believe that all children should have an opportunity to succeed and realize their potential, but right now many of Fairfield County's children face significant obstacles. They aren't ready to learn when entering Kindergarten, 76% aren't reading at level by 3rd grade, they hit a recurrent summer slide and don't have the necessary skills to transition from middle to high school. As a result, they aren't ready for college or prepared for a career. To empower children for the future, we adopted a new approach, one where we work collaboratively with a wide array of stakeholders, towards a shared goal, through a process that disrupts the status quo, demands accountability and operates transparently. We work like architects, designing and building Ecosystems of Opportunity, which implement innovative, practical and sustainable solutions, tailored specifically to our community.  (Less)
