Mission: United Way Bay Area inspires and connects people to break the cycle of poverty in the Bay Area by supporting both the short-term needs and long-term systems change.

UWBA brings together partners from the nonprofit, business, and government sectors to address Bay Area poverty. We partner across sectors, develop solutions, capture the data we need, and use those insights to support public policy and create research-backed community initiatives.

Our Vision: We envision a Bay Area where all people have equitable opportunities and access to what we need to thrive.

Our Mission: We activate individuals, businesses, and communities to work together to address the root causes of poverty and build pathways to prosperity for all Bay Area residents.
We serve Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Solano Counties.

United Way of the Bay Area is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1956, and donations are tax-deductible.
