Mission: Stewards of indiana's blood supply, linking volunteer donors to hoosier patients in need by recruiting, collecting, processing, testing, labeling and distributing blood to hospitals every day. A community blood program, supplying first in indiana then wherever the life-saving resource is needed.

Programs: The blood banking unit has accomplished a continuous, safe, and adequate supply of blood products by educating and recruiting blood donors, providing accessible donation sites, ensuring a healthy donor is drawn, and testing donations for viral markers. In the year ended 2017,139,187 productive units of blood were collected.

the testing unit provides a safe supply of blood products by strict adherence to the fda, clia, aabb, osha, gmp, etc. Guidelines to release a completely safe product. On an on-going basis the unit updates reagents used to perform tests for viral markers.
