Mission: The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Foundation exists solely to support programs and services that secure, manage and distribute resources to improve the lives of veterans, military service personnel, their families and the communities where they live.

Results: The VFW Foundation is the official 501(c)(3) charity of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Here are some of the statistics of which we are extremely proud:* $10.5 million in financial assistance awarded to military families since 2004 to help cover basic needs in times of crisis (housing, utilities, food, vehicle repair, etc. ). *$4.9 million in scholarships awarded to more than 1,100 veterans and service members for post-graduate and trade school education. *2.2 million service members and their family members hosted at "welcome home" events, thanking them for their service. *$7.7 billion, the total amount the VFW has helped veterans recoup in earned benefits from the VA -- which includes $1.2 billion in new claims in 2017.

Target demographics: U. S. service personnel, veterans and their families--individuals who have often personally sacrificed much for us all.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 101,166 veterans submit new VA claims; Since 2004: 8,864 grants provided to military families facing financial hardship; 2,881 military families who received assistance with housing needs.

Programs: Unmet Needs: financial grants to military military families for rent, mortgage, utilities, food, vehicle repair, etc. Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship: scholarships for veterans for post secondary and trade school education.
