It works so well that I bought two and run them simultaneously. No, I don't have a 7,000 sf home (3500 x 2). One is in my basement. I use the hose to drain it to the floor drain. It is gravity fed. There is no pump. The drain needs to be lower than the unit, obviously. I've found that using a shorter length of hose drains best. The other one is in my 3rd floor home office (formerly an attic). During these humid months SW PA summers, the entire water collection bucket has filled over an 9 hour period. It is effective, but it does throw off some warm/hot air. It isn't exactly quiet, but it also doesn't sound like a jet. It has a removable screen filter. Easy to clean and quick to dry. It does have a Filter indicator that blinks to let you know it's time to clean it. Press the filter light to reset it. This may not seem important, but it is. I already had a dead dehumidifier, thanks to not cleaning the filter enough. I've only been running maybe four months. I'll be able to see if one gets better life than the other. Bottom line, it does what it is supposed to and is a good value. Maybe that will change in the long run.
