Causes: Arts & Culture, History Museums

Mission: To preserve the heritage and traditions of rural life in Maine's past, to celebrate the achievements of Livermore's Washburn family, and to use living history methods to make values, activities and issues of the past relevant to present and future generations.

Results: We offer educational programs for Maine schoolchildren and other groups, a weekend Civil War Encampment open the the public, seasonal living history events like ice harvesting and maple sugaring, and exhibits demonstrating 19th century life styles and the legacy of the Washburn family.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Several Thousand

Programs: Meal Laugh and Learn; Journey into History school programs; Live-In 1870-24 or 48 hours on the farm; Rally for Norlands Civil War Encampment; and seasonal events.
