Mission: The mission of Island Wildlife is to respond to calls from Kitsap County and the surrounding areas and to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintroduce all species of injured and orphaned wildlife when possible; and to educate the public about the problems and possibilities of wildlife protection and rehabilitation.

Results: The West Sound Wildlife Shelter rescued and rehabilitated over 1600 wildlife patients this year. We have provided wildlife conflict assistance to over 6000 community members and have provided live animal education programs to over 10,000 children and adults throughout our region. With COVID we have had to shift to online platform for our programs and they have been very popular. Our release rate for patients is 85%! This is something that we are very proud of an attribute it to our top notch veterinary and rehabilitation team.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Almost 2000 wildlife patients, provided assistance to over 6000 community members with wildlife related conflicts and provided live animal education programs to over 10,000 children and adults annually.

Programs: The West Sound Wildlife Shelter provides injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife a second chance at life and promotes the well-being of wildlife and their habitats through public outreach, education, and involvement.
