Mission: Protect India's wildlife from habitat loss and human exploitation.
Target demographics: India's wildlife
Direct beneficiaries per year: 5100 animals
Geographic areas served: India
Programs: Sanctuaries for rescued elephants, sloth bears, and leopards who cannot be returned to the wild. The elephants and sloth bears at the sanctuaries had been enslaved and held captive for most of their lives, and cannot go back to the wild. The animals at our sanctuaries receive world-class veterinary care, nutritious food, and lots of love to help them heal from a lifetime of abuse. Wildlife SOS also maintains a 24-hour wildlife rescue hotline in Delhi, India, and works closely with Indian authorities to prevent wildlife poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking.
