My mom is on her third set of $4000 plus hearing aids. Nothing seems to work. Decided to give the pocket talker a try. Unbelievable. She can hear every word and everyone can talk normal. No more yelling. No more repeating yourself 3-4 times. For added convenience, I added the six foot extension to the mic so we don't have to be right next to one another. I highly recommend.

my grandma had $5,000 hearing aids and as she has aged and lost ability to put them in and out of her ears they were no longer a product she was able to use. My grandpa is 94 and also unable to help with them any more as he is losing his sight.We needed to find something simple for grandpa to help grandma with so they could still communicate. We tried this pocket talker and the moment we put them on my grandmas face lit up and she smiled so big - we only needed to use level 3 and she could hear perfect. we chose to detach the microphone from the handset and use it with an extension cord so grandpa could sit next to grandmas bed and be able to speak with her. What an amazing product so happy we found this.

This does a pretty good job for my 95 year old mother with profound hearing loss. She would never wear her hearing aides and then became homebound so had no access to further professional help. We were desperate. My complaint would be that the earbud supplied is very cheap and useless. It has a big stiff poofy tip that in no way will stay in the ear and there is only one with monoral sound. The headphones supplied are cheap and useless as well. They are like boards over your ears. We were able to use her cell phone earbuds however you can't get stereo sound. Sound will only come through one earbud. Not perfect but adequate. The detachable microphone is helpful. So I would say give them a try but you will need other earbuds. They are returnable so take your chances.

I purchased this for a family member who has lost their prescription units. I purchased this because it is larger and much harder to misplace. The included headphones are built cheaply, but have good sound quality.

I don't even know where to start. This little device has the potential to be life changing for so many people who have progressive hearing loss beyond what hearing aids can help with. My 92 year old grandmother just quit wearing hearing aids over a year ago, they were pretty worthless and didn't help her. Not being able to hear has been very isolating for her and made life difficult to engage in. She dealt with it, We dealt with it, we did whatever we could to communicate, but communication was always severely impaired. We just received this device today (I gave it to her as a late mothers day gift) and from the moment she got the headphones on her face lit up. She had control! She could hear EVERYTHING she wanted to..... It was an amazing transformation. I don't think she's ever heard my 3 year old daughter speak, and today she heard her loud and clear! It's like we have our grandma back. My daughter is going to have to get used to the fact grandma can hear her. This device is definitely a game changer for all of us. (I can't speak to the longevity or quality over time..... it's only been a day.... but if this thing goes kaput a month from now, I will purchase it again if I have to)

I am using this while my hearing aids cannot be used due to an ear infection. I literally could not hear anything and now I can have a conversation and listen to the TV. Not as convenient as my in ear hearing aids, but it is saving my life for now. Sound quality good.

Bought this for my dad when he was bed bound and had some hearing loss after a stroke. We had tried the over-the-counter individual aides - they were about the same price but they didn't agree with him (ear size, whistling sounds, crackling). His case worker brought one of this and his eyes lit up, “I can hear.” We order the same model (this one) and he loved it. Just a lot of wires to deal with when you're in a bed - try taking of the strap and the clip if this happens. It also came with tons of batteries

We bought this for my 92 year old father who is very hard of hearing. He wouldn't leave hearing aids in, but very well tolerates the head set this comes with. It's so helpful for the nursing staff to be able to communicate with him, and so nice that we can have a conversation without yelling.

My bapa just turned 100 years old. It was hard for him to get his hearing aids in, the feedback hurt his ears, and the cost was outrageous.This device is incredible!!!It's comfortable, easy to use, IF feedback occurs you can adjust the settings, the settings are easy and intuitive, you can spy on your neighbors lololol jk/kinda, they give you an f ton of batteries, you can clip it on, and it's just a REALLY great product that's so much more comfortable AND cheaper than hearing aids. I'm really thankful. Most useful and best new product of the year!

I've tried the in the ear hearing amplifiers and they often gave poor sound, were uncomfortable in the ear long and had short battery life. I simply depended on closed caption to watch tv and limited mostly to using the in the ear aids when going to the doctor. Saw this and though it was more expensive than the in the ear aids but it's a miracle. I watch tv with some quality headphones that go over the ear so no discomfort or ear buds and it was so much better I even wear it just talking with family members. It has the ability to raise and lower sound and adjust sound for clarity. This is really worth the money.

Purchased this for my 97 year old mother. She is not a candidate for hearing aids and is very hard of hearing. It does help her hear conversations. The only problem is it works best if it is standing up. It would be helpful if it came with a little stand to set it on.

My 94 year old mother with severe hearing loss owned many pairs of expensive hearing aids, with the PockeTalker she can actually hear and participate in family conversations. We can watch television by placing the microphone by the TV speaker using the 15 ft wire. My only con is that I thought the headphones went, one earbud stopped working. I ordered several new earphone headsets, unfortunately, it is not the headphones, I believe it is the device that is not working. I purchased the PockeTalker in May 2021.

Works extremely well for assisting a seniors hearing. Actually works better than hearing aids purchased earlier. I wish I would have tried these first!!

This device is great, my Dad is very hard of hearing and won't wear his hearing aids. The Pocket Talker is perfect for him. We found out about it from the P.A. that was working with him in the hospital. She used it to talk to her patients who are hard of hearing. With cord to extend the mic, everyone can pass the mic around and talk to him. Thank you very much.

The volume gets very loud, with good quality. The adjustable tone knob does a good job. For my mother that's 84 in a memory care unit and very hard of hearing it's been a miracle. She's had the very expensive hearing aids that she continued to lose or break. This unit being adjustable did a much better job than those units were thousands of dollars. Now I don't have to scream at her and bother everybody within a mile.

I am pleasantly surprised at the ingenuity and practicality of this device.Got it for a hearing-challenged elderly gent visiting an ALS patient in a hospice, whose voice is heavily muffled by the BiPap oxygen mask which is worn 24/7.The unit has 2 simple old-school controls, one for On-Off-Volume, the other for Tone. The mic plugs directly into the unit's 3.5mm jack and can be extended with the included cord. Although the mic is described as omni-directional, it seems to be uni-directional (focused directly forwards on the voice, excluding surrounding and background sounds), a real bonus. Also included: a set of mono headphones which are good, plus a single earphone, presumably for a listener who's already wearing a hearing aid.The Olympus Mic ME52W is also excellent. It plugs directly into the unit, comes with an extension cord and an alligator clip lapel mount (which can be attached to a strap on the mask). Any microphone with a 3.5mm plug should work.I've put together rigs with more expensive components, and it looks, for now, like the PockeTalker is as good if not better. If 2 people need to listen, a $5 headphone splitter does the trick.Appreciate the many detailed reviews that got my attention, many of them hilarious!PS - For those who prefer a Voice Amplifier/Speaker, I recommend the ChatterVox 100.
