I went to open my box and found that instead of a brown they sent me two copper. The package came in great condition and nothing was opened. The colors seem to be great. I was hoping to use a brown for a cake this weekend but maybe I’ll just use a dab of black with copper

I found the colors in this set to be really nice and the product mixed very well. My only problem with these was the size. I don’t have the dexterity in my hands that I used to so as I was putting the lid on one dropped onto my floor and got into the cracks of my planked wood floor. Trust me, it will be a long time before I can wash my floor again without wiping up food coloring out of the cracks. Don’t be afraid to buy this product. If your fingers are young and nimble, it works great!

The impact of these colors is intense and amazing. Years of washed out dyes led me to these gels and they pop with color. Cakes, frostings... guess I've only really used for cakes and frostings, but they are great and will give you all the color vibrancy you want.<br /><br />That said, the container openings are very small. Very small. Can barely fit the tip of a spoon into, which makes it hard to get the gel out cleanly. Something always ends up on my hands. Which is annoying but not terrible. I've made it work and it's worth it, but if there's a way to get the same gel color quality with a wider opening, choose that.

I’m sure this product will work for making colored icing, etc…, but not what I was hoping to use it in. Do not try to use gel colors when making lip balm. Lol I would have given it 4 stars if these were in dropper bottles or something similar. These little containers are a hassle and if you have little ones who like to help in the kitchen hide them.

Easy to use, smaller than expected

First time using gel based colors and I think it's far superior to liquid based so far. The color is vibrant and blends very well into the batter/icing. My only complaint is that I wish the individual containers were easier to open. The foil covering has no little grip tab anywhere and I've had to use a sharp knife to stab into the foil to create an opening. This then leads to coloring on the knife and my fingers as I have to grasp the now broken foil to pull it off the container. Thankfully it washes off decently easily but still frustrating to lose that bit of coloring.

The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it takes quite a bit to get a good color and I don’t like using a lot of color because it causes your food to taste bad.

The product is great! But I feel like to get the strong colors on the box, you need to use the whole container of dye.

I love these and the colors. A little goes a long way. Down side is opening them because it's a mess and a bit hard. Messy having to use something to get the color out vs other competitors that use squeeze bottles which is cleaner.

Rich deep colors. Easy to use with no fear of diluting icing with liquid color.

Good product

I love how pigmented these colors, they are pretty great quality! They are inexpensive compared to other gel food colorings, yet it is great quality with no icky flavors. I was especially impressed with the black gel food coloring because even though I needed a little extra black gel to dye my frosting black, it still tasted perfectly fine! I would recommend this set to anyone looking to try out gel food coloring because these are small containers and will probably last for a shorter amount of time if you use it frequently. The only downside to this set is the packaging. The little containers are hard to use and I would have preferred a squeeze bottle so it would be easier to add more food coloring without washing the toothpick or grabbing a new one to add more. Besides that, the gel itself is wonderful and I would definitely recommend!<br /><br />You can see how dark the black is on the bat cookies on the left and how pigmented the purple and orange frostings are with just a toothpick of gel!
