I have made cakes and frostings with dyes before. These work very well. If you do bright blue your tongue and teeth will be blue, no flavor noticeable. Pink is lovely too and no flavor. The Red, I was aware it could be bad. The 90s, any cake or frosting that had red dye was awful. I thought maybe in 2022 someone have would have fix that, Make RED not taste awful...Nope. Didn't happen. I used Red in cake mix to Marble it thinking it can't be that bad it its just in there for marbling....I was wrong the cake tasted overwhelmingly awful from the red dye. I recently made this cake with blue and pink dye marble no problems.
