This product is sturdy yet light weight. Very easy to assemble. Only setting up the top shelf takes a little time due to positioning. It is a little smaller than expected. I use the bottom two shelves with wicker baskets for lingerie and the third one to keep perfumes and other dress accessories. A good buy for grad students but I'd not pay more than $60 for it.

I bought this model and 3 of the tall ones because i loved the description and they truly are beautiful when they are finally assembled.Two things i would like to mention which are the reasons why i cut a star off is one that the screws for the top shelf especially are not conveniently located because you cannot do a full turn with the allen key.The other is that the top isn't really made specifically for the bookshelf you get in the box so it might kind of seem off a bit but at the end of the day the simple fact that i was able to get REAL wood in the US has made me extremely happy and for the price hands down its a great deal all around!!I would definitely recommend and buy this again..:)

We purchased this bookcase to use in my daughter's dorm. It was extremely simple to assemble and very solid once constructed. It is wide enough to place her computer printer on top and the shelves are spaced high enough apart that her yearbook fits, standing up (a much taller than average book). The bookcase is very deep, which is great for oversized books, but not so big that you couldn't place it in that odd corner in a room. This bookcase is definitely more substantial than the 'folding' bookcases with the flip down shelves (I've had a few of those in the past). I'll be ordering another, for myself, as this would work extremely well for all my crafting books, since many are oversized.

I am very pleased with this shelf. It assembled in about 10 minutes and is excellent quality.I bought the baskets to go with it, and the setup looks like I spent far more money than I did. Great storage option.

This shelving is absolutely fabulous. Solid heavy wood, perfect finish, and the parts were complete and easy to put together. Holes pre-drilled well, and all it takes is a little Allen wrench (included) and 16 screws. I'm really happy with it, especially since I paid the same price for a bunch of broken pieces with no finish and impossible to put together wihout an electric drill/screwdriver from another manufacturer!

I bought this shelf plus the matching baskets to store shoes just inside my front door (instead of having a giant pile of shoes just strewn about on the floor). I had previously purchased the Winsome Wood tall four-shelved unit for my cookbook collection, so I decided to go with Winsome Wood again. I am pleased with my purchase. In other reviews you will see that some people have had trouble actually assembling the shelves; I myself did not have any problem assembling either this unit or the other Winsome Wood unit I purchased. I just read the directions carefully and took my time in making sure all the parts were lined up properly. This unit is easy to assemble. It is solid wood, which is a plus in this day and age of pressboard. In some spots the wood is a little rough, but not majorly so. The Espresso color is definitely dark, but that's what I wanted. We live in a 120+ year old Victorian, and I wanted dark wood that would blend in with the new and the old furnishing and decor. This shelf set holds about 20 pairs of shoes (in five baskets, which I purchased separately) in the following sizes: women's 8.5, men's 10.5, men's 9, and women's 6.5. It's such a neat alternative to my old giant pile of shoes! I do recommend this product for a good middle-of-the-road shelving set.

This bookcase was absolutely perfect for what I needed!!! My only issue was with assembly. Some parts of the wood were tough to get the screws in and when I had difficulty the little wrench they sent would strip the head of the screw, making it nearly impossible to work it in. Once assembled, though, the bookshelf passes all of my expectations. The wood is beautiful, it's sturdy, and it's the perfect size. I couldn't be more happy with it. If I need more space I definitely plan to buy another one.

i purchased 2 of these shelving units for my studio space. being the impatient person i am, i decided to use a drill instead of the provided hex wrench to get the screws in faster. BIG MISTAKE! i ended up stripping most of them trying to get them tighter. now i have to deal with a wobbly bookcase since i can't get the screws out either! having learned that lesson, on the 2nd unit i used the wrench and it went together like butter. they look great up and the color is just what i was hoping for.

This product was perfect for giving our son extra space to store his legos and other building creations. We purchased 2 of these with one set of the baskets. He stores his extra lego pieces and instructions in the baskets and places his lego creations on the shelves. My husband put them together easily. However a few cautions:The screws were a bit long in places, so be careful when trying to screw up into the top shelf...go slowly or you may push the sharp tip of the screw through the shelf (we did, and then just unscrewed it until the sharp edge was gone before using putty to ensure the wood wouldn't flake off).One shelf did come with a corner chipped off, but it was in the back so we didn't care. I figure it is in my 8 year old's bedroom so it will get some tough love anyway.The color is gorgeous dark chocolate brown...and the baskets inside it really look sharp. The fact that this is real wood and not composite was what did it for us. We recommend this highly.

For the price, this is a great bookshelf. It's easy to put together. It had some minor damages, some weird discolored areas but they are not noticeable.They were mostly on the back of the bookshelf. It might look like it doesn't hold much weight, but it actually does. I have a 32 inch plasma TV that weighs about 30 lbs on the top shelf. Overall I think this is a great product. It goes great with other espresso furniture I have.

This shelf is espresso, which is not what the picture shows. If you're looking for a brown, do not get the espresso, it is almost black. That being said, I did actually want the darker color so I am pleased with the espresso. I got the matching baskets and the contrast is nice. My husband (the one who put it together) was pleased with the assembly as well. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

I bought this to help my son organize. It was very easy to assemble and it looks nice enough for a boy's bedroom. It is a little smaller than I thought it would be but it really was the missing link in organizing my son.

I was expecting a veneered particle board like a lot of the other shelving units in this price range, but was SO pleasantly surprised when the boxes arrived, each piece of the shelf was carefully wrapped for protection, and the wood was completely gorgeous. It appears to be (I'm no wood expert) solid wood that is stained. It's gorgeous! It has a new, modern, but also slightly rustic and natural look. I love it. I bought this two Winsome shelves - the tall narrow ones with the baskets, and the shorter wider one as well. They look great, they are sturdy, and I couldn't be happier with them. I plan to buy more from this collection over time. I love it!

Great price with free shipping for a solid piece of furniture. One note - the grain of the wood varies and that causes the color of the stain to vary with it. Every shelf is a little different shade of espresso. Overall, it does matches other espresso furniture in the room.

I bought this 3 shelf unit along with the 4 shelf unit and love them! I am using them as storage in my bedroom and not only was it easy to assemble (within 30 to 45 minutes by myself) but is very nice and the wood is great and blends in well with my existing furniture! The shipping was so quick and now I am just enjoying the organization this unit has given me! Love it. It is a great size without taking up alot of space.
