This shelf is awesome! I saw several complaints but when I received mine it was in perfect condition; no scratches breaks or missing parts. It also went together great, and it's very sturdy. The color is beautiful and the wood is actually very nice. This is a shelf for my kitchen- it took less than 20 minutes to put together and it is beautiful!

We needed a small bookcase for the kitchen for cookbooks and a charging station for phones, tablets and Kindles. This works great, is a perfect size and was easy to put together. Very happy with the purchase.

This product exceeded my expectations in every respect. Prompt delivery, easily assembled, rich mahogany look. We placed it atop a smaller bookshelf in a very small room my wife uses as her office. Thanks to great engineering, it doesn't wobble at all.

A very high-quality product and well worth the money if you have someone who is careful and physically fit available to assemble them. Sorry, but crawling around on the floor, with the shelves lying on their sides like a ladder that has fallen over, is the only efficient way to handle the assembly. You are using the flat floor to keep the pieces in alignment until you get the whole "ladder" of uprights and inner shelves assembled. Attaching the top shelf is the final step. This is most easily done if you place that shelf upside down on the floor, then raise and upend the "ladder" so that you can see exactly where to attach it to the underside of the top shelf. No peeking underneath and guessing. There is a enough hardware for the job, and it is precisely designed for these shelves. Just make sure you study the diagram before you start and that you have the patience to do the job right.Added note: Another great thing about Winsome shelves is that you can add to the storage potential at any time by hanging (light-weight) hooks and baskets from the side bars. InterDesign Over-the-Cabinet hooks, towel bar, and series of baskets fit nicely over the 5/8-to-3/4-inch thick side bars on my several sets of these shelves. Liberty Over-the-Cabinet hooks work well, too. On one hook I've got a microfiber towel for mopping up after watering plants and on another a pair of work gloves. A basket hanging off the side of the shelves nearest my humidifier holds the humidifier replacement filter and replacement antimicrobial cartridges. I haven't seen any other wooden shelves that you can use as hangers this way. Winsome rocks!

Very elegant looking!Nice dark espresso finish,almost black,but not quite.Take your time to assemble as pieces not marked,however,pay close attention to the 'pictures' on the diagram/instructions included as if you 'count' the holes and their 'placement' you will correctly find Part A and Part B.A bit scratched, minor as all these do it yourself furniture have.

This shelf measured out just like it said. The assembly was very easy and fast. I didn't even have to get the tools out. It is sturdy and the finish is nice.

I have several Winsome wood items, and have not been disappointed with any of them. The wood is solid and the bookcase is very sturdy once assembled. The color is true to the photo. Assembly was very easy. I would definitely recommend!

I gave this 5 stars because it was packaged well, came promptly, all the hardware was there, holes drilled correctly and it went together just fine by one person! It is always good to remember that you do not tighten the screws all the way until the shelves are assembled...giving a little wiggle room to get everything fitted properly. Although I did not use them, it has wooden plugs to fill the screw holes. It is sturdy and I wanted that for storing a tool box and other items like cans and/or bottles.Now the finish is not fine furniture but it does look quite good. Of course, you could really get up close...and start looking for defects. We live in an apartment and although we have good storage closets, I try to use the space in a logical manner. This shelf width fits the side wall of one of our closets and will keep household cleaners and other items organized and neat.

This bookcase is very sturdy and looks good. It's a good size and was easy to put together. I'm using it in my kitchen for cookbooks and storage.

I was surprised with the value of this item, as it was inexpensive but decent quality, and made of solid wook, not the condensed stuff I truly despised.great value!

It isn't too fancy but its a nice looking shelf. Sturdy enough. I didn't see any warping or nicks or scratches or anything. Nice dark color, though it is a shade darker than the image. I'm happy with it.

I bought two of these shelving units to use as bookcases in my small condo. These were some of the nicest looking three shelved units made of solid wood at the price. There is a similiar item that includes the storage baskets - I opted to buy the item that did not include these. The price difference is significant and you can buy similiar storage baskets far cheaper seperately, so if you were looking at the item that includes the baskets, I would recommend buying them seperately.The shelving unit came very nicely packed, in my opinion. There was a small nick on one of the shelves, but it was so small that you can't really tell that it is there. The units were fairly easy to put together - it took me about 25 minutes to put together two of them by myself. A hex key is included and is all that is needed for installation, but you might want to use a small rubber mallet to pound in the wooden plugs that cover the screw holes. I was too lazy to dig out my toolbox and used a screwdriver handle I had laying around with a cloth over it in order not to damage the finish. The most difficult part of putting this together was the top shelf. When getting to that part, I found it easier to put the top shelf on the ground, then place the unit on top of it upside down, and screw the screws in while it was laying upside down on the floor.As for the actual unit, it is solid wood, which is really nice for the price point. There was a slight flex in the wood which made the feet ever so slightly uneven in both units I put together. Before dinging the product for that too hard though, I understand this is a mass produced product so slight variances are understandable. The slight flex actually helped here though - I loaded up one of the units with books and it seemed to settle down and straighten out once there was weight on the lower shelf. One of the shelving units is completely packed full of heavy certification guides and hardcovers and doesn't show any sagging at all, which is a problem I've found with cheaper bookcases that use fiberboard/pressboard construction. The finish is a really nice, dark, rich color, but it definitely needs to air out a bit. After unpacking, the smell is pretty noticable. After a day, however, it doesn't seem to be there anymore.I really like it - for the price, you get a nice finish, solid wood, sturdy enough to pack full of books. I wish the item had a little better quality control in the pieces, but again, for a mass produced product that you put together yourself, I think the quality is really high. The smell of the finish might bother some people who are sensitive to smell, but the smell fades quickly. The slight wobble was fixed after putting some weight on the shelves and letting the unit sit for awhile. Could the wood be nicer? Sure, but it is hard to beat at this price. It seems like the negative reviews I read might have been when quality control went through a low point, but I did not encounter any glaring issues and I am very happy about my purchase. This definitely beats any of the cheap pressboard bookscase you will find in big box stores and looks like it will last a very long time.

This is a great deal, a beautiful and sturdy bookcase for a good price. It is easy to assemble, and holds a lot of books in a small space. It fits perfectly in the limited room I have for it, and looks great. It's not easy to find four-shelf bookcases at this width and quality. I recommend it!

Great shelf for part of my book collection. Easy to fix, after fixing it is very sturdy and does not shake, all the components were very well packed. It is made in Thailand, (at least not another MiC in the house!!! lol) No shipping damages. If I need another, space handy book shelf; will definitely order from this seller again.

For the price it's worth it. Looks good, I'm happy. I'm always nervous before I make purchases but this purchases was a success. It works well if you have a smallish space where you would like to put some shelves.

I just needed a somewhat smallish shelf for a narrow nook in my new apartment. This fit the bill completely. I know nothing about this kind of stuff, but it looks like solid wood rather than particle board. The color was a little redder than I expected but not in a bad way. Also it took me less that 30 minutes to assemble.

This shelf was easy to assemble and is perfect for our display area, I was inpressed that it is solid wood - not particle board.
