I wasn't expecting to assemble it. But it was OK. I'm not good in assembling, so I asked a friend to help me. It took him about 20 minutes to assemble each one of them (I bought 2). But they are really beautiful! I wish I could buy it in other colors, like green.

Good stool for my purpose, painting at an easel. A bit tricky to put together. Not normal screws but allen wrench and screws provided. Very hard to do since holes not predrilled and stick wrench strips the heads of screws very easily. I took it over to my dad to fix since the screws went in crooked and he did his magic and removed with a power drill and put in new screws in a few holes. If I had to do it again my advice would be to get wood screws and use a power drill and put them in correctly from the start. The stick wrench provided is not strong enough and regular headed screws would have been better for this project.

6 should do it.Do NOT attempt to put this stool together alone. If you are married, only put this stool together with the help of your spouse if you plan on immediate divorce.Assemble this stool only with the assistance of friends in the those who would help you move bodies category. If you lack friends of that caliber, try renting an octopus. The trouble with this stool lies in the fact that it has 8 pieces (4 legs, 4 cross rungs) that all need to be held in place as you put them together and all must be tightened at the same time to keep the thing from falling apart. The instructions clearly say not to tighten the screws until you have all the pieces in place. Heed this advice. You have to manipulate the other pieces several times to get any one piece in place.Unfortunately, this means that as you adjust pieces to fit in the next one, the others tend to fall out of place. The trick is to put the screws in just far enough to hold the pieces whether they are supposed to be but not tighten them. You will at this point discover that the screws and screwholes are not straight. Well actually, they are, and that's the problem because you are screwing them into pieces of wood that sit on an angle. The angle of the screwholes do NOT match the angles of the pieces of wood. But you can make it work.Once you get the legs assembled, if you're smart you'll call it good enough and tell everyone it's a piece of modern art. However, if you insist on actually using it as a stool and try to put the seat on it is at this point that you will discover that the hex key that came in the box doesn't really fit up under the seat. You can kind of, almost, sort of, turn it nearly a quarter turn before you have to take it out and put it back in again to turn it another almost quarter turn.Again, getting the seat on can actually be done, but you're going to be there awhile.Despite it's complications, once you get this stool built it really is a sturdy and beautiful piece. And you will truly enjoy it.Assuming you survive the assembly process, that is.

Stools are solid wood with a deep Walnut stain. Stools have a slightly rounded edge for a somewhat rustic feel. Difficult to see by the picture, the stools are indented on the top for your backside (not that it makes too much of a difference...you're still sitting on bare wood).Stools are very easy to put together. Unlike other reviewers, I did not have an issue with leg/cross bar misalignment. All screw holes were appropriately pre-drilled. Instructions were extremely clear and this manufacturer even color-coded the legs for the directionally challenged. In addition, the necessary tools are included so no additional tools are required for assembly. Extra hardware is also provided. What I did have an issue with were the screw plugs that were provided. The screw plugs seem well-stained, nicely domed and of consistent quality. The screw holes on the acual legs and cross bars of the stool, however, are not so consistent. I had one hole that was somewhat larger than the provided plugs and ended up glueing the plug in place. Most of the remaining holes were sized properly, but there were still some that were larger than others. Other reviewers have commented on the fact that the screw plugs fall out or come loose over time. If you're installing the screw plugs with your fingers, this is probably true. Take a rubber mallot and make sure to give each one a solid tap or two. This will ensure a tight fit. I can't see that any of these plugs will ever come loose (and, since I used Gorilla Glue on the over-drilled hole, that one isn't coming out either). Unfortunately, I don't expect to ever have access to the scews again. Hopefully they never need tightening. Also, the feet of the stool don't come with any type of floor protection. Unless you plan on using these on rug/carpet, invest in some felt furniture pads. All in all, this is a nice set of stools: solid, heavy wood, consistent stain, well packaged, easy assembly and definitely as described. For the price, you can't go wrong (even if a little extra labor is required). This is my second Winsome Wood product and I have been extremely pleased so far. And, as mentioned above, you will be hard pressed to find a cheaper stool at this quality.

The stools were exactly what I had in mind. The 29 are HIGH. Get the 25 if you have an average bad top.

We're using these at our breakfast bar. The color is great. My boyfriend didn't have trouble putting them together, but it was tiresome tightening all the screws. I'd recommend these stools.

We added plastic feet to keep from rubbing on the natural slate floor. Used in our rental home, so far so good; easy to assemble.

They are okay. I got them for my sons first house and he has twin boys. okay for them but not the greatest for adults. Although for the price I would recommend for starters and small kitchen areas

The bar stools worked well for my kitchen island, as the counter top is low. Chairs are actually comfortable to sit on for an extended period of time even without cushions.

These stools are great for the price and fairly easy to put together. They aren't the most comfortable stools out there - the seats are pretty narrow - but maybe that's my issue. But they look expensive and are sturdy - arrived quick and in great shape!

I bought a set of these for my kitchen counter and they serve the purpose just fine. I put them together by myself with little trouble EXCEPT for getting the screws all the way in with the Allen wrench, which is included. My dad said he would help me out with that little issue (I'm still waiting, Dad!). When the screws are all the way in, I'll be able to add the little caps to hide the screws and all will be well. (Even with the screws not being all the way in, they are ALMOST all the way in, and the stools are very sturdy.)

A little tricky to put together if you're used to the ease of Ikea furniture assembly, but overall a nice stool for a very nice price. I bought two and they're perfect for my little apartment.

You can't beat the price; the stools are comfortable and seem very sturdy. Assembly is not terribly complex and all of the hardware and hex key is included, but it required pretty strong hands to do all that twisting. It's a slow process; putting two of them together took me 45 minutes.

We use this with bar stools instead of a traditional dining room table. There was a defect in it, but something my partner could fix. It wasn't worth sending back. Hopefully, that was a fluke. We plan to get one more so that we can place them together to seat 6 for dinner, or separate them for larger cocktail parties.

These are great quality and very comparible to what can be purchased at the box store. I would not pay more than $35 for these, because they are at the box stores for $39.

Pro: Great color, sturdy materialCon: I have to tighten the screws every few weeks or they get very wobbly. Hopefully a bit of glue will fix this
