Speeds drying more than you might think at first. Place about 1/2 onto a glass palette and dip into it with bristle brushes. Might be too thick for thin sables. I've tried a LOT of supposed 'Impasto' mediums and this is the only product that actually holds most of the brushwork while giving a thicker body of medium with less paint. It dries with a nice sheen but not as 'varnished' looking as standard Liquin, still my favorite for glazing and all around use. Both products sink in deeper because of the gel quality, not runny. This gives a nice tacky pull in about 15 minutes, dries solid in around 6-12 hours, with heavy or thin paint, and most of the brush texture is retained. No wax that I can tell. Slight smell but no bad. Watch out for some of the other brands that use Turpentine to cut the medium so that it flows better. MS is not nearly as toxic.
