Mission: Wisconsin Independent Learning College or WILC is a private nonprofit college serving adults with autism who desire continued learning; assisting them in reaching their goals for independence. We believe that people with Autism Spectrum Disorders are intelligent and valuable members of society. It is our mission to provide each student with the necessary supports so that he/she may not only have a successful life skills experience but also become inspired to achieve their purpose in life.

Results: Our young adult students on the autism spectrum come from all over southeastern Wisconsin to attend and participate in WILC's daily living skills, augmented communication, prevocational and vocational day program located in Waukesha Wisconsin. We are both an IRIS and DVR vendor providing services to men and women age 18 to 30 diagnosed with autism providing services both at our training facility in Waukesha, in the community, and with employers. We have an 85% job placement rate with permanent part to full time job employment for our students which is higher than the Wisconsin and National average for individuals with autism.

Target demographics: Autistic young adults aged 18 to 30 to gain independence

Direct beneficiaries per year: 200 people through our service work for various local non-profit organizations and all of our students with autism and their families.

Geographic areas served: Waukesha, Wisconsin and nearby counties

Programs: daily living skills, communication, self regulation and interoception, community service, lifetime recreation, prevocational, and vocational skills.
