Mission: Our purpose is to help our trainees to be teachers, general contractors, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, etc. , free of charge. All we ask is that they pay it forward through Peer Mentoring. We are in the habit of Delivering Ongoing Random Acts of kindnessWe would like to create a monthly D. O. R. Results: *We have recruited skilled trainers*We have a training site - The Old Barn in Fairfax*We are excited about raising funds to make our training site fit for purchase ASAP!
Target demographics: WorkWright Vermont is a self-help organization for troubled teens, young adults, recovering substance abusers, homeless and others who have hit bottom. Most have been trapped in poverty for several generations.
Geographic areas served: Franklin County and the Greater Burlington Area
Programs: Trades skills i. e. Plumbing, Electrical and Carpentry, help with GED, Life Skills Math, reading: the end goal being, to prepare trainees to develop skill that will be of value to the job market.
