Exact replacement for my 20 year old bilge pump. Works great.

I used it in an RV shower to pump to a grey water tank. Handles hot water well but the integrated filter allows hair to pass into the pump requiring clean out every couple showers if long haired people use it. Would probably be fine for clean water like in a boat etc.

I tested it to make sure it would turn on before connecting it for good and it worked fine. Then, I pumped some hose water out of the bilge and that worked fine. But when I tried to pump water again, no water was removed from the bilge. At first, I thought I had a clog in the line so, get out the roto rooter and go to work. Went through the same process, same result, no water being pumped on second pump out. Then I remembered the check valve. I removed it, tried it again and, this time, the water continued to get pumped out on successive tries. I think the pressure of the water in the hose, sitting against the valve, was more than the pump could push through. So, out goes the check valve. I don't mind a small amount of back wash water in the bilge. I just want the pump to work.

Bought this a year ago and it lasted 1 year. I've used this a lot and it failed after 1 year. It was put to the test deep sea fishing and had been left on as a manual Bach up pump forgetting to turn it off for extended periods of time many times. I assume this is why it failed so I'm buying the same pump because I was happy with it. Let's see how long it lasts this time around, I will make sure I turn it off as often as possible. If it fails again I will write a review again. Bought it again to test the theory.
