Customer Review:Yamaha NS-IW280CWH 3-Way 6-1/2" Angled Ceiling Speaker Pair

Installed in the main family room down stairs, driven by a Denon amplifier. Makes great sound, we enjoy the system and it is great for TV, Movies and big sports events. We also run a number of Bluetooth devices through the Amp and the sound coming out the speakers is great. This is a value item. Good sound for a reasonable spend : - )

Good Yamaha quality and easy installation. The high mids and highs are exaggerated at least 3db if not more. If you're over 60 with the natural age related high frequency hearing attentuation then these might be good. Same if your installing in a very dead/carpeted room or perhaps in an outdoor room with lots of ambient noise. Otherwise the highs can be a bit shrill. The fix for mine is to remove the grill and put some electrical tape on the backside of the grill in front of the tweeter.

I had the 8" before, but are 2 way, I thought this smaller version would look a bit better or less visible while producing possibly better sound since it is a 3 way. I have to say I like the 8" 2 way better, they are fuller in sound especially in the low range.<br /><br />I do like the fact that the 2 dome tweeters of this speaker are individually adjustable, which gives it the ability to distribute its tones nicely over the area.

These flush mount Yamaha speakers are amazing. You can't even tell the speakers in the ceiling it sits so flush. I have three pairs for a total of six speakers in my media room and the sound is phenomenal. This is my first time using Yamaha speakers and I will not use anything else from now on. Installing them was quite simple cut the hole put the speaker in screw it out into the drywalling you're done. The price is too good to be true.

Outstanding speakers, the price was right and the speakers are great in the back bedrooms for sound. I can't tell that music is playing inside my living room. It sounds natural.

I was beyond surprised with these speakers when I installed them. The directional tweeters are amazing and they pack a surprising punch with the bass (ceiling space and material dependent)
