I really love this style of tool. Bought my first cheap one at the Japanese dollar store nearby, used it for years, this is a great upgrade because of the bright handle and stainless steel blade.

Movies always show people hacking their way through the jungle with machetes; similarly, I find this style of sickle unbelievably helpful for bushwacking through overgrown Blackberry and English Ivy in the Pacific Northwest. There's no other tool like it for chopping Blackberry canes one-handed, you can slice through them and move them out of the way while staying clear of the thorns. It makes it much easier to get at the roots and grub out properly when the rest of the weed is out of your way.

Also excellent for Clematis and other vines as long as they're small enough - 1cm is about the limit for what this tool can handle.
