i am a full time farrier and bought these to trim some goats that some of my clients ask me to do. the blades are a tad bit thick and might take a little bit to get use to. but let me tell you they cut through like butter. i was very impressed.

I purchased these to trim my mini pig's hooves. They work well, but they work best when using them to nip away small bits of hoof at a time vs. taking off large amounts at a time. If you're using them for hooves and your animal is calm, these trimmers should allow you to work with pretty fine detail to really shape those nails.<br /><br />Another strong plus is that the handles are pleasantly grippy with a rubbery coating. The safety close switch moves well in each direction, making it very easy to open and close them when you need to.<br /><br />Also, stay safe -- note that the blades are extremely sharp and will easily cut you, so I'd recommend a pair of those cut-resistant kitchen gloves so that you don't give yourself an unintended trim. Ahem, cough-cough.

I purchased these because the positive reviews outweighed the negative ones, and because of the simple, round-tip design.<br /><br />I have to say, I'm impressed.<br /><br />These worked perfectly, and the rounded tip is ideal for picking out hooves. We'd lost our previous clippers, so our goats' hooves were getting unbearably long while we searched for a new pair. These clippers handled the abuse incredibly well, and cut through our doe's remarkably hard hooves. They're nice and sharp so we're not struggling to cut off the fat parts, and the easy open/close is better than expected. The grip is good, and the clippers are well-made.

I bought these to cut the callused chestnuts off my horses legs. They work great. I wish I had paid better attention though, I would have liked a pair that had a thinner, more pointed tip. But they do the job.

We bought these to trim goat feet. They work great for the job, fit nicely in my hands, and are high-quality. However, they are VERY sharp...sliced my finger (being careless). Just be careful!

These things do the trick! I needed a pair of sheers that could cut through my pigs hooves. They worked!!! I have tried several others with no avail. They worked so well in fact that I almost cut my finger off! I now have a scar from them. I am sure they will keep working for years, but it will be a while until I have enough guts to use them again.
