I LOVE this sickle. I chose it because I was clearing vines and I wanted a tool with a hook on the end to grab, pull, and cut. This doesn't quite have a hook, but I went from clearing square feet to square yards, so it does the job. Good grippy handle, good weight and balance. My Only complaint is that it has to be sharpened often, and that's understandable given the way I use this sickle (I will pretty much cut anything in my way) and because it's carbon steel. It is also oddly fun and gratifying to use.

I live on a hillside with retaining walls and high lattice fences covered with ivy. Ivy flourishes in moist Western Washington State and keeping it cut back with hand clippers was a time consuming job. This sickle seems to be ideally suited for the job, and does the job three times as fast as the hand trimmer and the results look just as good. It's sharp, sturdy, and the blade angle seems to be just right.

This product arrives super sharp out of the box. I used it for a season in my garden. It can slice right through a zucchini or the stem of a cabbage in one stroke.You need to stay on top of maintenance because it can get rust. I sprayed the back of it with Rust-Oleum and cleaned up the blade after the end of the season. I really like this one. The shape of the blade and the feel in my hand are just right. I purchased a second one as a gift because a fellow gardener admired it.

This tool cuts and grooms my bananas better than anything I've ever used. It's as sharp as a razor so wear cut resistant gloves to save your fingers.

This thing makes extremely quick work of whatever you need to chop down.Be warned. It is sharp as all hell and it will take appendages off if you're not careful. I found that grabbing the top of whatever I want to cut down, then hooking it with the blade and making short, shape tugs will keep it controlled and take down whatever you want cut in usually two or less pulls.

Works great, Cleared bushes around an old fence that was difficult to mow, even hacked down some saplings that were clogging up the area without any trouble. 4.5/5 isn't literally magic.

You MUST be aware of how to wield a blade in such a way that you do not slice or gouge yourself. Otherwise, there'll be medical bills.This particular blade is best used for pulling and slicing awkward places. It really works, but you'll need to experiment. I cleared grass from under a wire fence the length of a football field in a couple of days.

Easy to use. Very sturdy. Slices thru vines, like butter. It's sharp. The hook tip allowed me to get behind tree vines and easily pull it off. Handles trough vines. I recommend!
