This is an extremely sharp and effective but can be dangerous to use. This sickle (although it is not called a sickle, I believe that is what it would be called in western cultures) is very sharp, easy to use (stooping or on your hands and knees) and cuts through grass, vines and undergrowth, including briars with ease, but requires you to get close to the work. It would be quite easy to cut your leg or opposing arm if you start day dreaming and it could be a serious injury. A large area would be easier to treat with a weed eater tool but for small areas that requires surgical treatment, it is great. I use it to clear out veggie or herb plants without impacting plants right nearby as you can simply slide the blade into tight places and remove plants on one side of the blade without damaging things on the backside.Just don't leave this laying around for the kids or grandkids to find.

I used it to clear the woods behind my house, left it in the rain on accident and it still cuts really well despite being rusted.

Made short work of clearing an overgrown garden...its a very sharp blade... Handle it with care . The very tip of the blade bent some what....but it's still a favorable review for this tool. I thought it performed rather well for what I needed .

Wow! very sharp. Use carefully. Cuts with pulling action. Blade is effective for weed type plants. Not strong enough for woody stems larger than 1/8 inch in diameter. Included blade sheath is a good idea for safety but will probably rust if sheathed wet.

I really like this blade super sharp, my only slight complaint is that it needs to be attached to a longer stick or handle. I personally don't want something this sharp close to my body when swinging.

As my headline reads; it does dull rather quickly and I have to sharpen it quite regularly so I wouldn't say it is the best at holding an edge. However, it is very sturdy and can take on some hard work.

This is a very useful tool. It is indeed is very sharp. i have used it several times and find it versatile around plants, garden, lawn. Excellent for reaching for grass and weeds under the branches of plants and especially for reaching under fences that are low to the ground. i would prefer one with the blade grind on the opposite side, it is not a deal breaker. i have used it to trim hedges and trim and remove vines from trees. i would pay more for another one if it came with a sheath that protected the blade in transit or storage. But more importantly improve the safety of handling such a sharp instrument.

Maybe I am bad at the motion, but it feels awkward to use compared to my anvil loppers, and also feels less safe.
