We had duct taped the lamp to the old terrarium- which caused it to sit too close to glass and it messed up the terrarium and sat pretty low. This stand holds it perfectly. Is adjustable. My 11 year old was able to put it together. Highly recommend

Bottom plate could be heavier so it could be used as stand alone but once slid under the tank it works fine. Fits well over my 75G. Get some clips/something to hold the wiring tho, the wire placement on the stand itself sucks at holding the wire in place but you can tie the wire down with string even so its not that big a deal.

I'm not sure what “warmth” means since it's just a stand and not the lamp itself. As for “thickness”, the majority of the lamp is a pretty thin metal rod, but it gets the job done.If does not work perfectly with our lamp (we have the dual lamp that came with the ZooMed starter kit), but it hold the lamp up and I do not fear that it will tip or anything. It is easy to breakdown for moving or travel. It has many adjustments to fit appropriately over any size terrarium/vivarium.
