This day is dedicated to the memory of the nearly 3,000 people that died. Patriot Day was made into a national holiday so that we, as a country, would remember to take a certain amount of time out of our day to commemorate the heroes of 9/11. Each and every American is encouraged to recognize Patriot Day in their special way.
