Product Description
Native Forest Organic Sliced Water Chestnuts are grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides and processed without sulfites or preservatives. Organic farming nourishes the soil, promotes biodiversity, provides a premium to farmer and produces some of the best tasting water chestnuts in the world!
Since 1978. Edward & Sons has been producing vegetarian products under the banner of "convenience without compromise." Their very first product, Instant Miso Soup, helped popularize one of Asia's most important foods here in the United States. Today they produce a long line of healthy packaged foods under several brands including Native Forest, and Let's Do… Organic.
We are a vegetarian company, which means that all foods throughout our family of brands contain no ingredients derived from meat, or fowl or fish. Most of our items are also suitable for vegans.
We shun artificial ingredients and preservatives. We prefer simple, wholesome, minimally processed ingredients crafted by artisans to achieve great taste without artificial enhancements. I'm grateful that Azure Standard is carrying organic water chestnuts. Most of my family love to eat these delicious and crunchy water chestnuts with Asian meals. They also taste nice in a salad and are a good substitute for grains. For one meal I ground some up in the food processor and heated them with olive oil to make a paleo rice, and it was wonderful. I try to rinse or soak them first to remove the citric acid and then drain them before heating or serving.

I've bought this brand of water chestnuts again and again. You may need to add a little salt as they are on the bland side. Nice crunchy texture.
