Precision, stainless-steel hinge points and press-fit bushings ensure trouble-free action and reliable, maintenance-free operation for decades. Die-cast-aluminum alloy linkage components and precision-machined pivot points give BedStep® rock-solid stability, and Teflon powder-coating ensures years of trouble-free, corrosion-proof operation. Excellent booster step in the back. Strong and cuts the space between the bumper and ground in half. This helps reduce the stress and strain of lifting one's leg higher than is barrable for older folks. Also keeps the receiver for a hitch usable for whatever the hitch is needed for.

Once the tailgate is down on my 2006 Dodge Ram, there is not much bumper space. This allows great access to the bed area.

The instructions were pretty good. I seem to remember they weren't clear for one part of the installation but it was easy to figure out. Other than that the step is great. I do wish it was all metal for the $250 price tag.

Added this to my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 after receiving a stress fracture from jumping down from the pick-up bed to the ground (crazy, right.??). The step was easy to install and very easy to deploy and retracts with just a gentle nudge. I was concerned that the step might deploy or retract unintentionally, but the designers engineered this step so it would be impossible (or maybe the better word would be improbable). Easily supports my weight and provides a stable foot hold between the ground and bumper height. Unlike a ladder design, you can actually “walk” down from the bed similar to a short staircase.
