the rulers are helpful and the blade is very sharp.i've cut hundreds of pages so far and it still cuts like new.there is a bar in front of the blade that does a good job of protecting my fingers when moving fast.it's not as cool, or dangerous as the old school office/school cutters back in the day -- but it is safer and a great price.

Terrific Paper Cutter. I had an antique one which is just dangerous. Then, I purchased those small ones but it didn't last longer than one semester. I did a little research and found this to be perfect. It is safe, sharp and works beautifully.

This does the trick. It cuts paper. It's accuracy is pretty decent but I used the markings on the cutter itself. If I had done an actual measuring job and used a precise ruler it would've been fine. I was also trying to be a little sloppy intentionally. Over all its a great tool. It's a bit lighter than I expected but that is fine.

This is very sharp.. be careful! I bought 2 (one for the office and one for home). I badly touch the blade.. and big cut on my finger! This product is really good! Cut anything really easy! I really recommend, but don't touch the blade by mistake like I did. I wasn't fully paying attention and this happens.. was a minor cut but still.. its really sharp and great to cut thick paper and promotional material.

Purchased for accurate paper cutting and for cutting paint protection film. This style of cutter would allow me to align and ultimately make razor precise cuts. For the paint protection film, I'd typically have to use scissors which could give wavy and inaccurate cuts. With this Swingline paper cutter, the included grid marks on the cutting table allows me to align and make super accurate cuts. The blade is super sharp and easy to push down for cuts. As you can by the tiny strips/pieces of paint protection film, super fine cuts, of both straight and angled cuts can be made with ease.This is definiately a highly recommended five-star item.

I wanted to like this, it's sturdy, not too heavy, and has lots of safety features. BUT it is so hard to get an accurate, straight cut. I don't know what it is about the design but it doesn't work.

I've had this paper cutter for eight years, and granted, I don't use it very often, but the blade just got dull. I came here to order a new one, as I didn't know if it was possible to sharpen the blade, and in looking through the questions and answers, I learned that the blade is self-sharpening. After moving the arm up and down several times, I tried cutting some paper, and sure enough, it's sharp again. Thanks to those who provided that tip, and thanks to Swingline for a product that is still going strong.

After I opened it I immediately wanted to test the 10 sheet claim. And it sure cuts. Can't speak as to the longevity of the blade but it trimmed up all the stuff I needed, even a real thin cut of like barely more than 1/8 of an inch. The fancy cutter at work even just rips and bends the paper when you try to do that! So far I'm pleased.

I wanted a small-ish paper cutter and I got what I wanted! It has measurements in metric imperial measurements, and it's not loud when you bring the guillotine down. I usually cut 1-3 pieces of paper so I'm not sure what its limit is. The safety feature is not the most intuitive, nor does it seem the safest, but I don't plan on just leaving it out on my table. Nice colors too
