I like Estwing tools, they are sturdy, and well madein the USA. Don't let this particular hammer get wet, it will mess up the handle.

There's nothing I don't like about this hammer. I got the 12 oz version and it's perfectly balanced. The leather handle is very comfortable. This will be passed down to my kids and will still be in amazing shape I'm sure. Very high quality hammer for the money.

Handle seems like it is securely and permanently attached to the shank and head. Believe it will last a lifetime.

Mine is almost 40 years old. Once I lost it for 3 years under the insulation in my ceiling When I polished it a bit, it again looks almost new.
