Forget about the strips This is what you need!! I would trust this over any other water testing kit out there. It is extremely easy to read, the only thing I would possibly change is maybe some extra tubes in case one breaks and a brush to clean the tubes. But you can always buy extra tubes which I advise doing especially if you have multiple tanks.

This kit is great for testing aquarium water. I found it a lot easier to read than most of the test strips i have used. Plus, this is a cheaper alternative to the strips because you get so many tests out of the bottles of solution provided.

I used it to fix 2 tanks that had crash their cycles! Had awful ammonia spikes! By water changes and this text kit I was able to get both tanks back ready for my fish! I recommend this to anyone that has aquariums!! Only thing that it doesn't do is check for water hardness and acidity! If they would include that to the test kit it would be perfect!

Great kit. Industry standard. I just wish the test tubes didn't break so easy. The tips of them break off in the provided slots. Different packaging, more test tubes, or an included test tube rack would really make this the only kit you need.

I use this to keep my water parameters in check and it's helped me figure out why shrimp are not doing well. Thanks API you are a shrimp life saver.

When cycling a tank, usually you're looking for the presence of ammonia/nitrite/nitrate, not an exact number, so sometimes a set of strips can be useful. BUT in the end you will want to know everything about your water, so why waste money on strips if you can just get this in the first place. Plus this will last for a looong time.

The parameters match up with what the person at the fish store who tested my water said they are I had him test my tap water and 5 tanks before I tested with this test kit and it seems pretty accurate just takes a minute to learn to match the colors of the water to the color on the paper which is something I already struggled with when I used the strips for some reason and I dont think the strips I had are as accurate anyway the ph on the strips were way off so I think this test is more worth it also theyre relatively easy to use as long as you dont lose count of how many drops youre dropping into each container

If you have an aquarium you need this to stay on top of ammonia and everything else.
