My son said it was awesome. Lots of people stopped to compliment him on his costume (we paired it with a creeper patterned hoodie and creeper patterned pants from some pajamas). He has the Steve head also, so he was used to the awkward view out the front, it is what it is. This one fit much better than his Steve head though. I think the Steve head didn't have the head adjustments inside (or we threw it away).

Sturdy cardboard. My son loves it! He is 8 and we had to adjust a little bit to fit his head correctly
