I admit I lost a little speed, but I do not run flat out all the time anyway.Gets me out of the hole quicker.Fuel consumption was down about half a gallon per hour. On a boat that burns 9.7 gallons an hour that is considerable savings.I did drill and bolt mine, I did not think I could trust the no drill install.

Made driving the boat easier, easier to control, decreased bow rise even at slower speed. A must have on every boat. Did not come loose even after a day at the lake with the no drilling installation. Worth the money.

Pretty easy to install, just make sure the longer bolts are near the back. It performs well, quick to plane.I installed it on a 2002 Bayliner Capri 185 BH, 3.0 Mercruiser with a Alpha 1 stern drive.

Item received before time. Very easy installation. First run with it installed allowed the boat to plane quicker and as advertised, I was allowed to plane at slower speed. Ran unit for about 8 hours total first day.

Zero stars if possible! Purchased this to help my boat plane more quickly and because it had the option to not drill through my outdrive. Instructions followed to the letter, retightened before and after each use of the boat, and the thing falls of anyways! What a waste of $100...

The directions are straightforward and easy to understand, i love that i didnt have to drill through the cavitation plate, but you have the option to do so if you'd like.

Perfect fit with no drilling. I over torqued one of the bolts and snapped it which it says could happen if you read the instructions first. I emailed them and the customer service is very good, they are mailing me a replacement. Can't wait to get it out on the water.

Installed on a Mercrusier Alpha One Gen 2 outdrive on a 22' bow rider. Installation was very easy and only took a few minutes. My boat hops on plane and stays there at lower speeds than before. It really helps towing skiers and tubers. The only drawback is that it will foul on the swim deck if we lift the outdrive too far when coming out of the water. Cruising at 30mph still uses the exact same RPM so there is was no reduction in speed. The shape of my transom prevented me from installing trim tabs so this is a good enough alternative. It does nothing for chine walking, leveling, or pourposing, as you'd expect. Having this installed makes adjusting the trim do a lot more than without it so be careful until you get used to it.I've had one of these installed on my 18.5' bass boat for years and it completely transformed that boat too. It absolutely jumps onto plane when it used to completely drag its butt. It planes faster and stays on plane at lower speeds. This is a very worthwhile install for any boat without tabs.

Man, what a difference! I'm getting on a plane in half the time compared to before. Only thing different? This hydrofoil! Follow instructions and make sure to check it before and after boating. That means getting an 11mm wrench and tightening it down a bit. I also added red gel locktight to make sure it's not going anywhere.

It took me about 1-1/2 hours to install. I decided to bolt it on rather than use the no-drill option. Mounted it on my Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW with a Mercury 75 hp Four Stroke and a Spitfire 4 Blade Prop.In the water it's a great performer. Planed faster than it did with just the Spitfire and stayed on plane at lower speeds. The wind was out of the South at 10 Knots when I tested it and believe me the boat handles much better in choppy water than it did before. I didn't notice any additional top-end speed (40-42 mph) but I didn't notice any loss of speed. It took a bit of practice to learn how to trim it properly but it's not a steep learning curve. I highly recommend.

2/26/2020Bought this because I was having issues with my boat leaning left and taking a while to plane out in very moderate chop.1988 16ft V-hull Sea nymph Aluminum with an Evinrude 1984 70hp and an SST propI know it's very uncommon for there to be such a major difference in the way a boat rides but not only does my boat plane faster, it doesn't seem like the bow rises at all. Motor is trimmed all the way down in moderate chop on the Florida intracoastal. I did sacrifice 1mph but the ride has improved dramatically. Steering is much more responsive and there is absolutely no lean on the boat when riding straight regardless of speed.I went with the bolt on method for the front end of the hydrofoil and the clamps in the back because there was no space for the bolts to run through the cav plate. Also used locktite to insure nothing will fall out.The difference is night and day. I would highly recommend this if you're in a similar situation that I was in.Update 9/9/2021The rubber clamp parts have rotted away and had to be replaced about 6 months ago. Not too surprised about that but otherwise, its still doing a great job even after many trips.
